Laurel Farm is a family run alpaca breeding business established in 2004 with a small foundation herd of females bred in the UK. Numbers have increased rapidly from births within the herd and the new imports specially selected for their ability to enhance the quality of Laurel Farm’s stock .

Laurel's SAPPHIRE - born 23.7.05 |
All our breeding alpacas are registered with the British Alpaca Society (B.A.S.)
The breeding herd comprises of black, brown, fawn and white
animals with our own brown and white herd sires. We
also have a selection of wethers (castrated males) available as
fleece producers, sheep guards or field pets. They,
like most alpacas
for sale, can also be trained to walk on a halter for showing
or just for walking.
With 22 recognised fibre colours in alpacas, the natural un-dyed fleece is a real and environmentally friendly alternative to dying white fibre. The market place has encouraged the production of white fleeces for many years, leading to fewer good quality coloured animals being bred. We are dedicated to improving our stock of coloured and white alpacas to keep a balance within the herd.
One of our first homebred females, Laurel’s Saphire, who has a beautiful rich dark brown fleece gained second place and Reserve Champion in her class at the Devon show in 2006.
This year at the 2007 Devon Show, Laurel’s Cleopatra took first place in her class and was Brown female Champion with Laurel’s Pedro placed second in the Junior Brown Male class and Reserve Brown Male Champion. Cleopatra also
won the Junior Brown Female class at the Bath & West Show with the only
other Laurel Farm alpacas shown also coming home with fifth and sixth place
rosettes. This bodes well for our future breeding programme.
The welfare of our alpacas is paramount and single alpacas will not be sold unless they are to join an established herd (however small). We will pass on as much information as possible to our clients when they buy alpacas from us and are always available by telephone for any after sales queries.
Our alpacas have paddocks coming right up to the farmyard and
we try to move them around so that all experience the various
noises of passing traffic and people, thus making life much less
stressful when they go to a different environment. Visitors
often comment on how calm and relaxed they seem
Here at Laurel Farm Alpacas we pride ourselves on being successful

regarding Alpaca farming and can provide you
